Hello Alma!
Congratulations on your upcoming blessed event! When I had my babies, gender reveals weren’t a thing, but I love the concept and enjoy watching how other people share the exciting news with their loved ones. In real life, I am a labor and delivery nurse! I occasionally get to be a part of a gender reveal for those that wait until delivery, and I love seeing the excitement and joy on the faces of parents when they learn if they have a son or daughter. I think doing a gender reveal at the
Walt Disney World Resort is a spectacular idea!
Alma, at the moment, in-person character meet-and-greets have not yet returned to Walt Disney World, but Hakuna Matata means “no worries!” so I have a few other ideas for you! If you’d like your big reveal to be Mickey and Minnie-themed, perhaps you could enlist the help of a Cast Member at
The Emporium. You could purchase either a Mickey plush for a boy, or a Minnie plush for a girl, and ask the salesperson to place the correct one in a bag for you and staple it closed while you wait around the corner. Then take your bag to the PhotoPass Photographers near Cinderella Castle and they can take photographs as you pull either Mickey or Minnie from the bag! Another idea would be to purchase either a pink or blue baby Ear Hat from the Chapeau on Main Street or Fantasy Fare in Fantasyland. You can have it embroidered with the year, or your last name, or whatever you choose!
If you’d like to truly capture the joy and excitement of the reveal, I highly recommend
Capture Your Moment, a private PhotoPass session! This 20-minute session will provide you with a personal photographer who can capture not just the moment of the big reveal, but take photos of you and your significant other posing afterward with either the plush or the hat. Purchase
Memory Maker and you’ll be able to download all of your photos to use however you wish. We did a Capture Your Moment session last fall, and I liked it so much we booked another one
at Animal Kingdom this summer!
I hope one of these ideas will work for you, Alma. I know we are all anxious for character meet-and-greets to return. Keep an eye on the
Disney Park Blog for reopening announcements. But do know that even if they return before your trip, you would need to take your reveal bag with you to a standard meet-and-greet with either Mickey or Minnie, as there isn’t a way for Guests to get a personal visit from the fabulous couple in the parks. Usually, this is only available to be booked for large special events like weddings.
Congratulations in advance! Wishing you all the best for a healthy pregnancy and baby!
