This is AWESOME! Lots of useful information! We are staying at the POR but would like to go to the Mickey's Backyard BBQ..Is this possible since we are staying at another hotel? Also, how would we get there if we are using Disney Transportation?

Yes, you could certainly go to Mickey's Backyard BBQ. Anyone can go to any of the restaurants or dinner shows at WDW, you don't even need to be staying on WDW property at all.

To get from Port Orleans to the BBQ at Fort Wilderness there are several ways to go using Disney transportation; all of them involve a transfer. You could take a bus from POR to the Magic Kingdom and then transfer from there to a boat to FW. Or, you could take a boat to Downtown Disney and transfer to a bus to FW. Similarly you could take a bus to any of the other theme parks and transfer to a different bus headed to FW. Be sure to leave lots of travel time as it may take a while to get to the BBQ even once you're at FW.

When you go to the BBQ be sure to bring your dancing shoes. Mickey really likes to move!
