Welcome to planDisney, Olga, and Welcome Home!
I am so glad you came to planDisney for help with using your
Disney Vacation Club Membership. I am always so impressed by the flexibility of our DVC Membership. We can
bank or borrow our Vacation Points or use our Membership to book other experiences like
Disney Cruise Line. Let's take a look at using Vacation Points to travel outside of DVC Resort options.
DVC Members will be able to use their Points with RCI through
December 31, 2023. After that date, Points deposited with RCI will be forfeited. However, DVC Members now have the option of booking locations throughout the world with
Interval International. These exchanges can be made online or by calling
DVC Member Services. In order to access Interval International online, log in to the DVC website and then hover over the "Destinations" tab at the top. Then navigate down to either "Vacation Exchange" or "Hotel Exchange" under the "The World Collection" option. Be sure to check
here regarding when reservation windows open and close depending on the type and length of stay. These stays must also be made prior to the last four months of your Use Year. Also, once your Vacation Points are converted to Reservation Points in order to complete an exchange, they cannot be transferred back to Vacation Points. Another option to consider, is creating a waitlist for a potential
Disney Vacation Club Resort for your select dates. I have experienced success with a waitlisted reservation becoming available on multiple occasions. I go into a bit more detail about how to create a waitlist
here. Whatever you decide, I hope this helps you use your DVC Membership to experience adventure in the great wide somewhere.
Thank you for visiting planDisney. We are here for all your Disney Vacation Club questions.
Enjoy making magical memories!
