Hi Pamela,
Back-to-back cruising is an amazing way to double your vacation time! Disney Cruise Line offers the ability to book a back-to-back cruise and choose the same stateroom to make it super simple. The sooner you book this option, the better opportunity you have to be able to keep the same room for both cruises. Keeping the same room makes it a little simpler but even if that isn't an option, Disney will take care of all the details for you.
To book a back-to-back cruise make sure that you
call Disney directly and let them know that you wish to sail back to back. They can help you book all of this and ensure that you have the proper paperwork for your vacation. The online system does not automatically link two reservations made online even if they are in the same room and under the same name. By notifying them, you will ensure that you get priority boarding and can head back to your room with ease on the second leg of your trip.
Guest Services on the ship will be extremely helpful through this process and can make sure that you navigate this with ease.
On the morning of disembarkation on your first cruise, you will still need to get off the ship at port and go through customs because the ship needs to be cleaned and clear customs as well without guests onboard. You will be able to leave your luggage on the ship while you do this. If you are staying in the same room, they will leave it there for you. If you are changing rooms, your room attendant will transfer your bags to your new room while you are off the boat. You will also receive an orange card that will be critical for when you get back onboard as it notifies the crew that you are on a back-to-back trip. The fun part about this process of getting off the ship, going through customs, and then getting back on is that it only takes about an hour so you are back on the ship before everyone else enjoying all of the activities! I recommend being first in line for the
AquaDuck when it opens.
Happy Planning
