Hi! My aunt has a home in Florida and we plan on going to visit her with my family soon. She would like to gift us a day at Disney and was wondering if she can purchase the tickets with the Florida residents discount since it’s not for her. Thanks!

    Hi Judith!

    Welcome to planDisney!

That is so amazing that your aunt has a home in Florida! I can imagine that it is wonderful to be able to visit with your family and go to the most magical place on earth!

The Walt Disney World guidelines state that when purchasing Florida Resident theme park tickets, the guest must provide Proof of Florida Residency. Proof of Florida Residency can include:

Valid Florida driver’s license (must have a Florida address)
Valid Florida state-issued ID card (must have a Florida address)
    Valid Florida-based military ID

To use a Florida Resident Ticket, any Guest over the age of 18 must be an actual Florida resident. Unfortunately, this means that your aunt would be unable to purchase tickets for you at the Florida Resident rate.

I see that you are visiting in January right after the new year which means the Christmas decorations will still be up! You will be able to enjoy seeing the themed Christmas trees at Disney Springs and all of the parks and resorts.

I hope you have a magical vacation!
    Magically,
    Stacy
