Aloha, Susan, and welcome back to planDisney.
Aulani is one of my favorite places, where Hawaiian culture meets Disney magic! Does it get any better than that?!
So let’s talk about those amazingly spacious villas! I chatted with a Cast Member who confirmed that the Standard View 3-Bedroom Grand Villas are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors. These villas have views of the conference center, parking lot, or parking garage.
There’s so much to do at Aulani, so be sure to download the
Aulani Resort Mobile App so you don’t miss any of the fun activities! During my last visit, I discovered a really cool feature where you can easily view everything you’re interested in attending. After you link your hotel reservation in the app, you can go into specific offerings in the Daily Activities schedule and press Add to Plans. This will add that activity to a list where it’s easy to see everything you want to do that day. I also like to browse the schedule before my stay to get an idea of which activities are typically offered when. Keep in mind that character meet and greets don’t appear in the schedule until each morning (in my experience, it’s usually between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.).
Some of my family’s must-dos are learning to play Disney songs on the ukulele at ‘Ohana Ho’okani Pila and snorkeling with the colorful fish at
Rainbow Reef. The ukulele lessons can be booked in advance, and I recommend making that reservation through the
Pau Hana Room website as soon as the booking window opens (currently, that’s 45 days in advance) since they’re very popular. Snorkeling in Rainbow Reef doesn’t need a reservation, but if you’re interested in feeding the fish, stop by in the morning to sign up, since time slots can fill up quickly. Both snorkeling and fish feeding are available for an extra fee. The fish feeding was a fun activity for my nephew since he’s too young to snorkel. There are also windows where you can see the fish or wave to a snorkeler!
I also love to start the day with a character breakfast at
Makahiki. There are lots of
character meet and greets throughout the day at Aulani, but the breakfast is great for getting quality time with the characters over a delicious and leisurely meal! Also, my family was often too busy in the pool and ocean to stop by the character meet and greets during the day. Dining reservations can be made 30 days in advance.
And finally, my favorite way to end the day is with Uncle’s enchanting Hawaiian tales at
Mo’olelo Fire Pit Storytelling. You might even get to hear more about Maui the infamous demigod!
I hope you and your ‘ohana have a magical stay at Aulani! And if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.
