We are going to Aulani next month but I'm worried about missing out on 'ukulele lessons. My DVC guide said they happen on the same days each week, can you confirm which days and how early our booking window is? 30 or 45 days?

Aloha Keala! I’m always happy to chat with a fellow Disney Vacation Club member. The ‘Ohana Ho’okani Pila ‘ukulele lessons are one of my favorite activities at Aulani, so let’s make sure you don’t miss your booking window!

Currently, activities like the ‘ukulele lessons, can be booked up to 45 days in advance. In my experience, you can usually start making reservations at midnight Hawaii time. This has changed from time to time in the past, so if you want to be absolutely sure you can always double-check when the activities become available in the days leading up to your booking window (and get an idea of how fast they fill up).

To see when certain activities typically happen, I like to click around on different days in the booking calendar. Click the Reserve Now button on the Pau Hana Room - Community Hall page and that’ll take you to the calendar. At the moment, it looks like ‘ukulele lessons are typically offered on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, but that’s always subject to change. And while you’re booking activities, be sure to reserve Family Fun Animation if you love to draw since that also books up quickly.

If you’re not able to secure a spot, Hakuna Matata! When you're at Aulani, I’d recommend checking with the Pau Hana Room in the morning to see if there have been any cancellations. I’ve sometimes been able to snag openings that way.

There are also lots of fun activities that don’t require a reservation! Some of my must-dos are the two tours (The Art of Aulani Resort and The Culture through Nature tours), the Menehune Adventure Trailcharacter meet and greets, and the Mo’olelo Fire Pit Storytelling at night. Be sure to download the Aulani Resort app so you have the activity schedule handy.

And, since it sounds like you’re a Disney Vacation Club member, don’t miss the Member Celebration that usually happens on Monday nights. It’s a fun little dance party with glow sticks and appearances from a few Disney pals. Stop by Hoku Hideaway to RSVP and confirm the schedule.

I hope you have a magical and relaxing stay at Aulani! If you have any other questions, you’re always welcome at planDisney.
