We are going in August and would like to book some of the fireworks dessert packages. Under their descriptions, they say they can be booked 180 days in advance but then they only allow you to make reservations for the next few months. Why is that?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Melinda! We are more than happy to help you plan your next Walt Disney World vacation. I am actually watching along with you for those dessert party dates to open for booking. My younger daughter will be celebrating her birthday this summer at the Resort and she has tasked me with making sure her big day is filled with lots of chocolate. I guess since she is acting like Ana, I better not Let It Go and am watching for a spot at the Frozen Ever After Dessert Party!

The Fireworks Dessert Parties work a bit differently than most Advance Dining Reservations. Instead of each day opening 180 days in advance, these usually open in large blocks of time. Sometimes, a month may open for booking all at once; other times it may be two months that open at once. This leads to a lot of refreshing the screen, but I promise you it will be worth it! My sister and I attended the Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing this past summer so we could get a great view of Happily Ever After. Having the reserved viewing section made seeing this nighttime spectacular much easier and yes, the desserts were the icing on the cake!

Thank you so much for stopping by with your question, Melinda! Please let us know if we can help you plan more of your upcoming vacation.
