Oogie Boogie Bash and working on the final details for my costume as well. Let’s talk about the logistics for this fun and spooky night!
Some guests who are attending the Oogie Boogie Bash do arrive earlier in the day, and often in costume. Typically guests begin to arrive in costume 1-2 hours prior to the party mix-in time of 3 p.m. If you would like to enter Disney California Adventure prior to this time, your costume will still be subject to the park’s
Costume Guidelines, with Security Cast Members having full discretion to determine whether an item or a costume meets those standards.
I am not sure how elaborate your costume is, Mykela, but if you would like to enjoy the park prior to the Oogie Boogie Bash, you may want to rent a
locker to store some or all of the costume. My wife and I, for example, dressed Kuzco and Kronk for the party a few years back and we added our props once the 3 p.m. mix-in began so we could be comfortable while riding things like the Incredicoaster. This may be an option you want to consider, depending on your costume.
I also have some good news for you about needing to re-enter Disney California Adventure for the Oogie Boogie Bash. If you have a valid park ticket or Magic Key and a park reservation for Disney California Adventure that day, you can enter before the party and remain in the park for the mix-in.. Guests who are already in Disney California Adventure at the 3 p.m. mix-in time can head to a designated location (typically by the entrance to Avengers Campus) and pick up their party credentials. This is extremely helpful as the party-specific entry line can be quite long at the mix-in time.
