We will be attending Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on November 30th. That is the only day we will be attending a Disney park. Is there any advantage to purchasing a one day Memory Maker in advance? Or is it ok to purchase after the party day?

    Happy Holidays, Diane,

Thanks for bringing your question to me at planDisney! As a fellow Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party enthusiast, I’m happy to help! This special ticketed event is one of my favorite Walt Disney World Resort celebrations and one that I love to talk about, so let’s get down to some holly jolly conversation.

Purchasing Memory Maker for the day of your party is a great idea since there are so many amazing photo ops during the party. I especially love meeting the Characters, like the Seven Dwarfs, and the Hundred-Acre Wood gang, dressed in their holiday attire. With Memory Maker, you can download high-quality photos and maybe even get a perfect holiday card picture in the process. That’s a win-win!

Since you won’t be visiting other parks during your visit, Memory Maker One Day is a very merry option for you. While there is no cost benefit, I suggest that you make your purchase in advance so you can check it off your list! If you would rather wait to see all your photos, you can purchase Memory Maker One Day after your visit. You can also purchase photos individually if you prefer but, in my experience, Memory Maker is a better value.

Diane, whichever you decide, here’s a quick tutorial on how to activate Memory Maker. Be sure you are logged into your My Disney Experience account when you purchase Memory Maker, otherwise, you’ll need to link your Memory Maker to your account. On the day of your visit (or afterward, if you wait to purchase Memory Maker), simply log into your My Disney Experience app and select the Feature (☰) Menu on the bottom right of the Welcome screen. Scroll down to select the Photos tile and view your photos from that day. Select a photo you wish to download and then select Buy My Photos, and you should see an option to activate your Memory Maker. From there you can select any photos from your visit that you would like to download!

Remember, Guests with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets may enter Magic Kingdom Park at 4:00 p.m., so you have lots of time to capture magical photos. For more planDisney tips for the party, check out the planDisney Pocket Guide or stop by to visit me again at planDisney!

Wishing you many merry and magical memories,
