I might attend the Food & Wine Fest w/my 10yr old son. I am interested in a few dining experiences. Maybe the tequila pairing lunch at Hacienda de San Angels? Is there a separate menu or lower price for children attending with a parent?

    Hi Tiffany,

The Epcot Food and Wine Festival is one of my favorite events on the Disney calendar. I've taken my tween/teen daughters several times to enjoy the tasting booths and meet some of their favorite celebrity chefs.

The larger food and wine pairing events are fabulous, but they can be expensive, and unfortunately there is generally no lower price point for children. (Pricing for 2014 events has not been released, but that's what I have experienced in the past.) While kids are not expressly forbidden from most of these events, there will typically be very few kids at the more expensive alcohol intensive experiences. For example, I attended the Taste of Scotland event in 2013 which featured incredible Scottish food and free flowing Scotch. There were at least 200 people there and I can recall having seen only three children.

If you'd like to bring your son to Food & Wine, which I strongly encourage, you may want to concentrate your time with him on the less expensive cooking demonstrations held in the Festival Center. These are typically very child friendly. There are child care options you could use for a few hours if you wanted to attended some of the more adult oriented experiences.

For more information on the Food & Wine festival, you may want to head over to the independent website DisneyFoodblog.com. They have extensive coverage of the event with lots of photos and reviews.
