I am attempting to make dining reservation for my upcoming trip. Today is the first day that my 60 day window is opening up and the website nor the app will allow me to make reservations. Any suggestions as to why I am unable to make them?

    Hi, Kayla!

Oh boy! I love talking about Disney food, so I'm glad you found us at planDisney.

I'm so sorry you're having trouble making dining reservations for your upcoming trip. I always set my alarm and grab a big cup of steaming coffee in a Mickey mug on the morning that my reservation window opens. It's one of my planning rituals! But I have also been disappointed when the restaurants I want don't have availability. Let's see if we can find out why you're having problems.

First, I always double-check dates. If the date on the calendar is still grayed out, then you might be trying a day or two early. Next, I've found that the old log-out and back-in trick often works wonders. If you're on a computer, then clearing your browser history and cache are some other techie things to try. If all else fails and you still think you're having a technical glitch, try calling Website Support so they can walk you through some steps to try.

If you've ruled out technical issues, the problem might be that there simply aren't reservations available for your dates. Guests staying at Disney Resort Hotels can make dining reservations for the entire length of their stay which can lead to an availability shortage. But I still have some other ideas.

Instead of searching for times at a specific restaurant, you can change your search criteria to an entire theme park, Disney Springs, or all of the resort restaurants. This might open up availability for your dates. You can also keep searching over the next few weeks because guests' plans change all the time and reservations are released.

And don't forget about the quick service dining options throughout Walt Disney World. Mobile Ordering is one of my favorite tools because I can order in the app and then let the restaurant know when I arrive. The Plant-Based Totchos at Woody's Lunchbox in Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios is my absolute favorite meal to mobile order. And you don't need advanced reservations for any of the quick service restaurants throughout the parks, so that's always a yummy option that doesn't take advanced planning.

Kayla, let me know if you have a chance to try those delicious Totchos on your upcoming visit this spring, and thanks again for stopping by planDisney!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
