Hi KE,
I completely get the pain of dining anywhere with dietary restrictions. Disney World is our favorite place to vacation because it is so easy for my family to navigate gluten-free dining! There are fabulous options at all of Disney's restaurants and they are so wonderful to work with. I see that you will be hitting up all of the dining options at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. We recently stayed there and tried all of these places. I am happy to report there were so many options!
My favorite dining location at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is
Sanaa. The food is delicious and the views of the savanna are relaxing. The Indian-style Bread Service is a must-try option here. We often head over to Sanaa and just sit in the lounge to order drinks and the bread service because it is so delicious. There is a gluten-free and milk-free option that is delicious and includes several dipping accompaniments. Each
online menu will offer a detailed list of meals that are safe to eat if you scroll down to the bottom and review the allergy-friendly portion of the menu.
The pool at Animal Kingdom Lodge is a blast and has a great slide! We love doing a pool day.
Maji Pool had allergy-friendly options but we opted to order food delivery from an outside service on our pool day because the options were not plentiful at the pool bar and didn't include anything we were super excited about.
Boma on the other hand had so many wonderful options! As I am sure you know, breakfast with gluten and dairy allergies is often the hardest meal. The options at Boma's breakfast were plentiful with an omelet station, oatmeal table with toppings, breakfast meats, and fruit. You can also request sweet breads, bagels, and waffles that are all gluten and dairy-free. Make sure to talk to your server about your allergies and they will help walk you through all of your options.
If you need some reassurance, I promise that dining at Disney with allergies will be an experience that you are not used to because it is so easy and enjoyable. Every time we visit, my daughter seems relieved because there truly is something she can eat everywhere and it isn't just an afterthought. There is delicious, safe food everywhere.
Happy Planning,
Jenna
