    Is assigning a Disney character to each family member in my profile purely symbolic?

    Hi Michelle,

    Thanks so much for stopping by with your fun question! All of us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel LOVE planning Disney vacations, and we believe the magic and fun begin as soon as you begin dreaming about your next Disney adventure. You'll find that one thing that sets a Disney vacation apart is the incredible attention to detail that you'll find throughout the theme parks, Resort hotels, and yes, even the website and mobile app!

    While the Disney character avatar that you choose for your My Disney Experience account is mostly just symbolic, it does have some benefits. First, it helps you identify that you're in the right account. Each time you log in, you should always see the same character that you've chosen, so if for some reason you see a different character or a plain blue Mickey head, it helps alert you that something is off. If you're traveling with a larger group, it can also be beneficial to easily spot each individual in your Family & Friends list because you're used to seeing their character avatar. For the most part, though, it just adds a bit of enjoyment to the planning experience, so feel free to have fun with it! I'd recommend selecting the character that puts you in the Disney spirit, and enjoy having him or her along for your planning ride!
