Ahoy, Sarah!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and congratulations on your upcoming vacation with Disney Cruise Line! Your crew is in for a vacation of a lifetime when you set sail with Captain Mickey. I'm sure y'all can't wait to be sprinkled with pixie dust when it's your turn to embark on your enchanted voyage.
Sarah, I'm glad you went ahead and put your name on the main seating dining wait list. If you don't get moved before your departure date, there is still a chance it could happen once aboard. On the front of your first cruise newsletter you'll see directions for changing your dining time. You'll receive this newsletter in the cruise terminal, so I strongly recommend following the instructions as soon as you embark. I hope you'll have success, but if not, I do have a couple of tips for dining during the second seating. First, you'll get to see the nightly show before dinner so grab a snack on the pool deck around 5:30 before you head to the Walt Disney World Theatre sometime before the 6:15 p.m. start time. There will be some concessions available for purchase before the show as well. Second seating Guests also have an opportunity to take advantage of Dine and Play, which is a program for cruisers ages 3-12. If your little ones want to leave dinner early to head for fun in the
Oceaneer Club and Lab, your servers will expedite their meals so they can be picked up from the dining rooms around 9:15 p.m. The youth counselors will come around to gather up any sailors who are finished eating. My children have both participated in this convenient program in the past, and it has worked out very well for us. My husband and I actually enjoy having a little time to ourselves each night.
Thank you for your question, Sarah. Please let us know if you have any others. We always love to help!
Have a magical day!
Nancy
