I asked this before but forgot to mention that I am from another state. I am coming in June with my sister n her friend and I am from another state but lost my ID. I have been there before and don't remember I used my state ID before. Will I need my ID

    Hi Jennifer!

Welcome back to planDisney! I am sorry you lost your state ID. As the mother of four, I just went through something similar with my middle son who lost his wallet which included his learner’s permit. I know it can be challenging to get these things replaced!

You can purchase standard theme park tickets online and link them through My Disney Experience, without needing to use a photo ID. You then can use a MagicBand linked to you to access your theme park tickets for admittance to the theme parks. Florida Resident tickets do need to be activated and require proof of residency, but standard theme park tickets do not. However, if you choose to pick up a physical ticket card at a ticket booth or at Guest Services, rather than using a MagicBand, you would be required to show ID to pick up those physical tickets. This would prevent someone else from showing up and getting access to the tickets you paid for just by giving a name.

Jennifer, even though you can use a MagicBand and won’t be required to show a photo ID for standard theme park tickets, the mom in me needs to add some extra advice. You never know when there could be a question or issue and an ID may be needed. As I advised my son when he lost his wallet, carrying photo identification is important, and we did have him order a replacement. Should there ever be a question on the tickets, or should there be an emergency or accident where you couldn’t speak for yourself, having an ID on you is important. In my everyday life I am a nurse and I can tell you that you should always expect the unexpected. I would strongly encourage you to replace your state ID, and carry it with you at all times. It seems you have several months before your trip which should give you enough time to replace your ID, and then it would also take the worry off of your mind should there be any questions on the tickets.

Wishing you a magical day, Jennifer!
