I asked before if you could see the fireworks @ M Kingdom from Fort Wilderness before and the answer was yes. Do you miss out on anything ( besides the Crowds ) not being at the park? I have 3 kids 9,7,and 5 and worried about the Crowd during March 15-2

Over the years I have seen the Wishes fireworks show from several locations around Walt Disney World: from the beach at Fort Wilderness, from the beach at the Grand Floridian, from the California Grill and from inside the Magic Kingdom. In my opinion, the outside viewing spots all pale in comparison to watching the show from inside the MK.

From outside the park, Wishes is just a fireworks show. Really good fireworks, but not all that different from the ones shown at my town pool on the Fourth of July. But from inside the park, Wishes is a real mutlimedia extravaganza. The Castle lights up. The music swells. The fireworks and Castle lights dance in time to the music. There are other magical surprises. It is a completely different experience from inside the park.

And yes, there will be crowds. But to me the crowds actually add to the atmosphere. I love it when a particularly beautiful pattern appears in the sky and thousand of people simultaneously oooh and ahhhh. I love it when the crowd bursts into spontaneous applause. And I find it oddly comforting that in this crazy world, there are still ways to get a large group of strangers in one place and experience something joyful together.

So, while I firmly believe that Wishes is a vastly better experience from within the Magic Kingdom. I am also well aware of the benefits of getting small children to bed at reasonable hour. You can't be at a late Wishes show and then be at an early character breakfast the next morning and expect to maintain your sanity. You just have to choose what your priorities are.

    Hope this helps.
