    Hi Louanne,

Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for stopping by with your very important question regarding your stay. The Walt Disney World Resort is such an inclusive place to visit. Your resort will always do what they can to help with any type of request. They will also try to help regarding guests special needs as well. While you can customize almost every part of your vacation, the room request is something you can absolutely do. During your check-in process 60 days ahead of your arrival you can submit room requests. These requests can be made a number of ways, one is by calling for assistance by phone. Another is when you arrive with your Cast Member that checks you in at the Front Desk. Online check-in is available and you can also put in room requests that way. Unfortunately you will not be able to use your My Disney Experience App to check-in until you are stateside.

No matter which of the two Port Orleans Resorts you are staying at make sure you visit Port Orleans French Quarter for the Mickey beignets. Find the Scat Cat Club Cafe and order a couple, or an entire sack of them. Either way you’ll more than likely be heading back to get some more during your stay. If you are looking for something with a little more kick visit Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory for the jambalaya or the gumbo. Both were favorites with all my picky eaters. My kids stole my gumbo and left me with pizza scraps they loved it so much. But as a Dad watching my kids try new things and actually like them makes me happy. Might just be that Disney magic floating around who knows.

I hope this information is what you were hoping for. If you have any other planning questions visit us again!

    Have a magical stay,
