When going ashore at a port of call, adults are to bring picture ID and their Key to the World card. But what are children to bring? Just their Key to the World card? The only picture ID my children have are their passports which we were told not to take.

    Hi Cynthia, welcome aboard!

When you disembark the ship in any port of call, each member of your party, including children, will need to have their Key to the World card ready to disembark. Returning to the ship, you will be required to show your photo ID (adults) and Key to the World card. I highly recommend you all carry your passports with you in any port as well. If something were to happen, like you missed the ship or got hurt and needed to go to a hospital, you would need your passport to get back to the United States. Most likely nothing like that will happen, but passports are small and easy to carry, and for my family we think it's worth the peace of mind knowing we are prepared just in case. Then once you get back to your stateroom, lock them back in the safe until you get to the next port. There are certainly many benefits to having your passports with you as you sail.

Have fun planning the rest of your cruise, Cynthia, and be sure to let me know if I can help with anything else as you prepare!
