Hi Elizabeth! Thanks for coming back to see us here at planDisney!
Haley is in for a giant magical surprise if she wakes up to a vacation to
The Most Magical Place on Earth on Christmas morning! That is one present I would LOVE to open! During my dozens of trips to Walt Disney World Resort I've only been during the winter holidays once, but it was definitely worth it and is a perfect time to visit, especially if you don't like the super-hot summer weather. When we were there last December the temperatures were in the mid-70s and the sun was shining every day.
You will find that the holiday season is a busy time for Walt Disney World Resort because of all the extra-special offerings going on at that time. Not only are the Theme Parks dressed to impress with their holiday decor, but this time of year also offers other magical extras. You'll find the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays and usually, there is a special after-hours event at Magic Kingdom, such as
Disney Very Merriest After Hours Event. I think you and Haley would really enjoy the beautiful decorations and watching it snow on Main Street U.S.A. I promise it's a lot nicer than watching it snow here in Massachusetts!
Your idea of making magical memories over a long weekend is a great one as long as you can work it out with your schedule! If you're looking for a budget-friendly but still perfectly themed place to stay, there are a couple of
Disney Resorts Collection hotels that stand out to me for you and your daughter. I would look into
Disney's Pop Century Resort or a Little Mermaid Room at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort. These Resorts are both beautifully themed, come with the
benefits of staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel (like Early Theme Park Entry!), AND they're right on the
Disney Skyliner line, making it quick, easy and fun to fly over to both
EPCOT and
Disney's Hollywood Studios.
If you're planning a long weekend, I definitely suggest grabbing a
Park Hopper Option Theme Park Ticket. With the Park Hopper Option, you'll be able to start your days at one Park, zip back to your Resort for a swim (or a nap!) and finish off your evening with dinner and fireworks in another Park. This allows you more freedom to move around the Resort as you wish, instead of visiting only one Park per day. I always feel like it's especially helpful on our last day when we want to return to a Park to ride some favorites again before we go home!
I hope this information was helpful Elizabeth, but feel free to come back again if you need anything else!
