Hello Elizabeth, welcome to planDisney! We are thrilled to have you here. I understand how important this question is for you, and I know you will have a fantastic time at the theme parks.
I'm delighted to share that the
Walt Disney World Resort is designed with exceptional accessibility in mind. All guests, regardless of their needs, can fully enjoy the rides and attractions. You're more than welcome to bring your own wheelchair, and there's no need for any documentation. Alternatively, if you'd prefer to rent a wheelchair or Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV), you can do so at any theme park, water park, or Disney Springs. You can find the updated rental prices on the
wheelchair and
ECV rental pages.
If you decide to rent a wheelchair or ECV, you can do so for a few days or for your entire stay—renting for your entire stay will even get you a discount! Just remember that you can't leave the parks with the wheelchair. If you're heading to another theme park on the same day, just show your receipt at the next location, and they'll give you a new one! To rent, you'll need to be 18 years old and have a photo ID.
Even though you can't book a wheelchair or ECV in advance, there are always plenty available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you prefer, you can also book one with ScooterBug, a private mobility rental company in the Central Florida area, which is a Disney Featured Provider for stroller, ECV, and wheelchair rentals. Or, as we mentioned earlier, you can simply bring your own! The choice is yours, and we're here to support you.
I hope this information helps with your planning, Elizabeth! Before your visit, it may also be helpful to check out the
Services for Guests with Mobility Needs page to learn about all the available services that can make your visit even better. Please
feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions. It's always a pleasure to help a friend like you.
Cheers
Nilson
