We are arriving with our 6 year old midday on Dec. 31. As we won’t be at a park that day, are there any fun events or ideas for celebrating New Years Eve at Disney outside of the parks, ie. at resorts, restaurants, Disney Springs?

Hello there, Julie! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for reaching out and asking another wonderful Walt Disney World Resort question!

The holidays are a magical time to visit Walt Disney World Resort! Every single theme park is decorated in their most festive attire, Guests can catch special holiday entertainment offerings, and you might just be able to see a bit of "snow" in the air at Magic Kingdom. You and your family have certainly picked a particularly fun time to vacation at Walt Disney World Resort!

As you may already know, the two most popular New Year's Eve celebrations take place at Epcot and Magic Kingdom. Both of these parks offer their own unique countdown to the New Year as well as various other forms of holiday entertainment and merriment. However, you can also find a variety of celebration opportunities outside of the parks as well!

Historically, many of the Disney Resort hotels have offered their own New Year's Eve parties for Guests to experience! Some of these offerings are more upscale affairs while others are a more family-friendly experience. Currently, no New Year's Eve event details have been released, though.

I would recommend you pursue the Disney Parks Blog prior to your arrival. As soon as any information regarding the New Year's Eve events is available, it will be posted to this website. Generally, information regarding special events is revealed a bit closer to the time in which they occur so we'll likely receive more information within the next few months!

Have fun continuing to plan for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
