Hello Audrey!
Welcome to planDisney! How exciting that you'll be checking into
Disney's Riviera Resort in just a few days! This is a wonderful time of year to visit with warm but comfortable temperatures perfect for swimming or touring the parks. Celebrate spring with a
Taste of Epcot Flower & Garden Festival. View magical topiaries of your favorite Disney friends, and surround yourself with blooming gardens while you sip and savor your way through the festival's Outdoor Kitchens! There is something for
everyone at this fan-favorite festival!
Beginning January 2021,
MagicBands are
no longer complimentary with Walt Disney World Resort Hotel reservations. MagicBands are available at a special pre-order price for resort Guests that purchase them in advance on My Disney Experience. Guests who opt out of MagicBands will receive a Key to the World Card at check-in that will work as their room key and park ticket.
But MagicBand fans do not need to fear, there are plenty of options for you! If you have MagicBands from a prior trip, and they are less than 2 to 3 years old, they should still work. MagicBands are associated with a Guest, and not with a specific reservation or trip. So if each member of your group has an old Magic Band, as long as the battery still works, you can bring them with you. The battery generally lasts 2-3 years. You can also purchase new MagicBands after you arrive. Take the kids to the gift shop to pick out their favorite and then link them on the My
Disney Experience Mobile App!While many Guests, including me, still love MagicBands, there are now multiple ways to access your room and park tickets! Did you know your smartphone will open your room door right from the My Disney Experience Mobile App? You can also use the app for
Mobile Ordering, checking park hours and wait times, and searching for PhotoPass Photographers, and linking your photos! I'll attach a video to this answer with some of my fellow Panelists demonstrating these options.
The latest edition in technology available to Guests is
MagicMobile! If you have an iPhone or Apple Watch, you can use MagicMobile to load your park ticket directly to your device! You can set this up before you go, and each member of your party can choose their favorite ticket art. All of these technologies are interchangeable and you can enter the park with MagicMobile on your Apple Watch, then use a MagicBand to purchase a snack, use whichever method works best for you!
I hope one of these options will work for your upcoming stay, Audrey. Wishing you a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
