    Arriving at WDW next week! :-) Staying at ASM. Dining reservation @ Chef Mickey's day of arrival. Hoping to go to Downtown Disney before dinner reservation @ 7:30. Could we take a bus from Downtown to the Contemporary? If so, should we leave DD @ 6:30. Thx

    You have everything exactly right!

    There are buses that run from Downtown Disney to the Contemporary hotel. There are two Downtown Disney bus stops, Marketplace and West Side, you can find buses going to the Contemporary at either location. I would plan to be at a DD bus stop about an hour before your dinner reservation at Chef Mickey's. The bus ride itself will be much shorter than that, but I always like to leave a bit of extra time in case there's a wait for the bus or some other delay.
