We are arriving at WDW in 2 days, staying at the Wilderness Lodge. I have to have an injury packed by a medical professional, preferably a doctor. How can I best get this arranged in the most econmical and time saving way?

Hi, Dena!  Having just spent the past four months going through something like this, I can tell you the best place for you to start making plans is at your doctor's office.  I had an open wound that initially required daily nursing visits so the wound could be cleaned and packed.  Both my doctor's office and the visiting nurse association that did my home care helped me locate a visiting nurse organization in the Orlando area that was able to come to the hotel to do my dressing changes.  When I was moved to using Vacuum Assisted Closure technology, on the couple of visits I made to Orlando, the same visiting nurses would come and do my wound VAC changes.

The second place to look for information is your medical insurance provider.  They will tell you what wound care clinics or visiting nurses groups are covered by your insurance plan.  In some cases, the insurance company can help you set up the visits.

If your insurance company allows you to go to walk in clinics, you might want to call some in the area to see if they are able to do your particular kind of dressing changes on a daily basis.  The one closest to Walt Disney World is CentraCare in Lake Buena Vista, which is just about a three minute drive from Downtown Disney.

Good luck as you continue to heal!
