Mom and Daughter at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort Room

    we will be arriving for our trip one day early and We were going to tour some of the resorts. Can you give me a good list of resorts and activities we can do without spending any money?

    Hi Helen!

    Absolutely! Resort hopping (especially along the monorail) is always a favorite activity of ours. While you won't be allowed to use the amenities (such as the pool) you are always welcome to visit any Disney resort. In fact, we've been known to visit the Grand Floridian at Christmas time just to see the Gingerbread house!

    Some of the resorts are easier to travel to than others. The monorail resorts (Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and Polynesian) can easily be visited on a day that you are visiting the Magic Kingdom. From the Magic Kingdom or Contemporary, you can also take a boat to Ft. Wilderness and/or the Wilderness Lodge.

    If you are at Epcot, you can exit via the International Gateway for an easy stroll to the Yacht & Beach Clubs and the Boardwalk. From Hollywood Studios, you can take a boat ferry to these resorts.

    From Downtown Disney, you'll be able to take a boat ferry to both Port Orleans resorts as well as Saratoga Springs.

    For the other Disney resorts, the fastest transportation would be to drive. However, if you're willing to spend time riding buses, you're welcome to do that as well.

    Each resort will have different (sometimes free) activities and tours. To find out what's going on at a resort, stop by the front desk and ask for a calendar of events.

    And one last idea - one great way to visit a resort is to try out one of the restaurants. Its a great excuse to spend a bit of time at the resort and enjoy the ambiance!
