    We are arriving at the Polynesian Resort on 6/24 with my 10 yr old granddaughter. . I have a Lagoon view room reserved but understand I can check in on-line and request a Longhouse. My question is: which longhouse should I reserve and which floor?

    Vivian,

    As a general rule, I would always suggest you go for a room on the first or third floor. That is because with some of the original longhouses there are no balconies on the second floors. That being said, I would shoot for any of these buildings;

    Hawaii, Samoa, Niue, Rarotonga, Tokelau, Aotearoa, Tonga, or Fiji. They should have room renovations done before you arrive. Of these, Hawaii is a Concierge building, so that might not be an option if you did not pay for a club level room. So the Lagoon view buildings within this list would be Tokelau and Aotearoa, and of the two I would say your best bet is Tokelau for location and distance from the Grand Floridian construction.

    BOTTOM LINE: Go with Tokelau

    Have a magical vacation!
