We are arriving in Orlando on a Sunday and would like to not use a day of our 4-day tickets for a Sunday night character dinner. Do we need to use our entrance tickets to get into a character meal at the Contemporary or Grand Floridian? Thanks!

    Welcome Back Linda!

It sounds like you are making some terrific plans for fun character dining experiences on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation.   I think character dining allows for spectacular interaction between Disney Friends and your family members. One of my children is quite shy around Disney Characters in the theme parks, but will often warm up to a friendly face greeting him personally during a meal.

Both Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort, and 1900 Park Fare at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort host character dining events.   These events are not inside of a theme park and do not require you to use an entrance ticket to participate.   Both dining spots are really fun, and a must-do for my family on each vacation we take to Walt Disney World.   You can't go wrong by choosing either dining location.

Thanks for visiting us again Linda!   Please let me know if you need any additional help planning your upcoming adventure.
