We are arriving Jan 21st, staying at Bay Lake Tower. Does the resort provide umbrella's in case it rains or do they rent them?? Just thinking if this is one less thing I have to pack, yes or no?? Thanks so much for all your help in our planning.

    Hi Wendy,

How exciting!! You are just days away from your amazing Disney World vacation, and what a perfect place to stay. I was lucky enough to peek behind the scenes during the construction of Bay Lake Tower, and just recently went back to see the final product. The rooms are gorgeous and the views are breathtaking. Plus you are only steps away from Magic Kingdom. What could be better!

Luckily, you are traveling during a time when the average rainfall for Disney is very low, and hopefully you will see few if any raindrops during your stay. The resorts and parks do not provide umbrellas, nor do they rent them. You will be able to purchase them, as well as Disney rain ponchos, at just about every merchandise location on property. There will not be a shortage, so no worries on that, but the cost is higher than what you would pay at home. You may want to consider visiting your local dollar store before you leave, and purchase a number of cheap rain ponchos. They take up little room in your bags, and the cost is low enough that you will not mind disposing of them after they have become wet.

On side note, Florida has recently been experiencing colder than normal temperatures, so remeber to pack an extra sweatshirt or two and maybe even some gloves and a hat, just in case.

Wishing you a magical and dry vacation!
