We will be arriving early on a Saturday morning to rope drop Animal Kingdom. We will be checking into our Disney hotel that afternoon. Can we still rope drop 30 minutes early if it’s our first day and we haven’t checked in yet?

    James,

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

Yes, since you are checking in as a Disney Resort Hotel guest that day, you are eligible to take advantage of all the resort perks, including Early Theme Park Entry! I would urge you to use the Online Check-In feature of your My Disney Experience account so that everything is squared away and ready to go, even before you have walked into your resort room. Then you should be ready to go enjoy an early morning at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park!

On my last solo trip to Walt Disney World, I arrived well before my room at Disney's Pop Century Resort was ready. Like you, I was there early enough to rope-drop the early park entry, so I did just that. I dropped my bags off at the hotel, then rode the Disney Skyliner to my park to enjoy those extra 30 minutes. What a great way to kick off a vacation!

    BONUS TIP
You can also conveniently check out of your room on your departure date using the My Disney Experience App on your smartphone.

Please feel free to write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
