Hi! We are arriving to the Cabins at Fort Wilderness in July 2021. Since Disney discontinued providing free Magic Bands to hotel guests, we will be using our old bands from last year. Would you please tell me how to link up the old bands using MyDisneyExp?

    Hi Kristin,

Whoo-hoo! You'll LOVE staying in the middle of the magic, yet nestled away in nature at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort! So peaceful and relaxing!

Want to hear some fantastic news? To reuse your MagicBands from a previous Walt Disney World Resort visit, there's nothing you need to do! No data is stored on the MagicBands themselves, rather they simply link back to your My Disney Experience account. As long as your MagicBands are still marked as "Active" in your account (and they should be unless you had previously marked them "Inactive") and your new reservation is linked to your account, you're good to go! You'll be able to use your previous MagicBands to enter the theme parks, link your Disney PhotoPass photos, charge any retail or dining purchases directly to your room, and enter your Cabin! Pretty sweet, huh?

Did you know that there's now a brand new option to use, too? Disney MagicMobile recently rolled out and is a great way to use many of the same features of a MagicBand right from your smart device! The great news is that it, too, simply links to your My Disney Experience account, so you can use this awesome new service or a MagicBand or card interchangeably. Feel free to use whatever works best for you!

Thanks so much for visiting us again at planDisney, Kristin, and please feel free to keep your great questions coming! I hope you have a truly magical vacation this summer!
