Hi Peggy,
How fun! Our family loves Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party and have been attending for years now. This special ticket event is a fun, family friendly event. There are occasional appearances form a happy haunt, and maybe even a visit from the headless horseman, you will find the majority of the event very "Not so Scary". We have never seen the characters "pop out" from anywhere (well except in the Haunted Mansion attraction) and they are all there to enjoy the party and are not trying to frighten or alarm the guests.
You will have a chance to visit with plenty of Disney pals like Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pooh and a great number more. I love that even Mickey and his pals are in the Halloween spirit and have brought their very own costumes. It makes me smile to see Mickey dressed as a farmer, Minnie as a princess and Pooh as a bumblebee. The great thing for your son is the characters are usually in designated locations and he can completely avoid these greets if he prefers.
Most of the attractions and shows will be open for your enjoyment as well as a few special shows and events that can only be enjoyed on these evenings. The Hallo-wishes fireworks show is amazing and there are a number of candy stations set up all over the park for you and your kids to gather up treats and goodies.
We have been enjoying the event since the boys were quite young, and have always been able to have fun without the boys being frightened or alarmed. I am sure you will all have a boo-tiful time!
