Hello! When we arrive in Nov, our girls will be 1 and 4. My husband wants to build a "rest day" into our week, to allow the girls to regroup. Do you have any on-property, non-park activities to suggest (other than swimming at our resort, of cours

    Hello again Amanda!

It sounds like you are planning an exciting time for your daughters. I also have a daughter who LOVES Walt Disney World and one of her favorite things to do when not visiting a theme park is tour the other resorts.

We have two 'routes' we take. The first we call the 'Monorail tour'. We jump on the Resort Monorail which makes stops at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney's Contemporary Resort. We take time to really explore each resort. There are some fun features such as the beach at the Polynesian which is a great place to view the Electric Water Pageant and Wishes fireworks.

Our other route is along Crescent Lake. This includes Disney's Boardwalk Inn Resort, Disney's Yacht Club Resort and Disney's Beach Club Resort. It also includes the Atlantic boardwalk-inspired Boardwalk area which features fun shops and restaurants.

If your girls are animal lovers like mine, you have to head over to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Not only do they have fabulous restaurants such as the Mara and Boma, they have an animal observation deck which makes you feel like you are in the middle of the savannah. We were able to view giraffes, zebras and gazelles up close.

A quick tips about touring other resorts: the best way to travel between Walt Disney World resorts via Disney Bus Transportation is to take the bus to the theme park closet to your destination then transfer to whatever method of transportation will get you to your final destination.

Good luck with the rest of your planning. If you would like any other ideas on making you time at Walt Disney World extra magical please come back and see me.

    Have a magical day!
