DH, 2DS (8&10) arrive next week & it looks to be thunderstorms most days. What have you found to work best in the parks, umbrella, ponchos, jackets? What type of shoes do you recommend? We want to enjoy the parks regardless of rain, any tips apprec

    Hello Tara,

The rain, rain, rain came down, down, down and your family will be enjoying Walt Disney World, puddles and all.  I love that your family is willing to brave a little wet weather on your vacation. When it's raining, lots of people run for cover so it's a great time to enjoy your favorite attractions.  I personally like the ponchos because your hands remain free while you stroll through the park and you don't have to bother with opening and closing an umbrella all the time. You can purchase your poncho at Walt Disney World, but they are cheaper at your local stores.  I've found them at my Dollar Store and they work just fine.  Closed toe shoes work better when it's wet. Flip flops tend to do just that in the rain and your feet will be wet, miserable and sliding all over the place. Most of the theme parks have some sort of indoor attractions that you can enjoy while it's pouring outside.  It might also be a good time to schedule a snack in a covered location.  If you're at the Magic Kingdom, hop on a monorail and cruise the hotels on the route. Lots of shops and restaurants to enjoy at the resorts while you wait out the storms.

Sending you pixie dust for sunny days and blue skies in the meantime.  Enjoy your trip!

    Be Magical,

    Leanne T.

Walt Disney captured my heart as a little girl and has not let go since. As a parent and grandparent, I have been to the Walt Disney World Resort with children of all ages, and also as empty nesters. I would like to share my years of experience so that you are able to start your own tradition of Walt Disney World memories, just as I have. Learn More About Leanne
