We arrive in Disney at 9am and hopefully will be able to do the online check in. Our passes start that day. Can we leave everything at the hotel and start our fun? What about our bags? Is it safe, or should we just hang out at the pool?

We still don't have a firm date for the start of online WDW resort check-in. However, regardless of whether this is available at the time of your visit, you are welcome to start your vacation fun as soon as you arrive at WDW. Simply go to your hotel and pre-register. This is basically the same as checking-in, only you won't be able to get into your room. The front desk will give you your Key to the World cards that will later serve as your room key. The Key card will also be loaded with any park tickets or Dining Plan credits you have purchased.

You can certainly leave your bags at the hotel. If you take them to the bell services desk, they will give you a claim ticket and hold them in a secure area until you return. I do this on nearly every trip I make to WDW. I have left luggage containing laptops, DVD players, iPods and lots of other gear with bell services and have never had any problems at all.

Feel free to get your park tickets, drop your bags, and head out for some touring. There's no need to wait to start the fun.
