On arrival day, how much time should we allow in order to get to a dinner show? For example, I arrive at 3:56pm. Will we be able to attend the Hoop De Doo Musical Review?

There are several things to consider when making this decision:

    1. Where are you staying? If you're staying at Fort Wilderness, the Wilderness Lodge, or one of the monorail resorts (Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary), your transportation time to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue should be relatively easy and quick (10 to 35 minutes). If you're staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, your transport time to the HDDR could be over an hour.

    2. How are you getting from the airport to your hotel? Depending on what you choose, this could change your travel time from less than an hour to up to three hours.

    3. What time of year are you traveling? During the winter, flights are prone to delay from Northeast snowstorms. In the late summer and fall, flights are prone to delay from Southeast rainstorms.

    4. Which HDDR show are you interested in? During most of the year, there are three HDDR shows nightly. 5:00, 7:15, and 9:30. No matter where you're staying or which transportation you choose, you're not going to make the 5:00 show, but if 9:30 is an option for you, then, under most circumstances, you could make it.

    5. How much of a financial risk taker are you? The HDDR requires full-payment pre-purchased tickets. These are non-refundable. If travel problems do delay you enough to miss the show, you could be out a good chunk of change. If you don't want to risk it, then I would schedule a different arrival day event, perhaps a character meal at Chef Mickey's. If you should happen to miss your seating time at Chef Mickey's, you may be disappointed, but you wouldn't incur any financial losses.

Hope this helps you think through the situation.
