Aloha Monica, it's good to see you back here again at planDisney!
Now you can count me among the many Disney fans that really do love frequenting
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and taking a little peek back over the past several years it seems like
you've definitely asked a similar question before and gotten
responses from the Panel with your arrival day plans in mind! However, since some of the information already out there has most definitely changed over time I was happy to drop by for a visit to provide you with the latest information straight from the Cast Members at
Trader Sam's Grog Grotto - our beloved island-inspired Polynesian hangout for adventurers and explorers alike:
- Currently on the menu, the HippopotoMai-Tai is listed along with the pricing for its signature souvenir mug. Apparently, many guests are surprised to discover that the mug that you drink out of isn't just cleaned and handed to you afterward - instead a new, unused and often boxed mug is presented to you instead.
- The Cast Members let me know that guests who may not necessarily be alcohol drinkers do often choose to purchase the souvenir mug on its own, and can even do so while placing an order outside at Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace. (Just be sure to hang on to your receipt so that you can collect it from inside!)
They also let me know that the various mugs found here are subject to availability and cannot always be guaranteed, especially when special designs or newer editions are released. Always be sure to let your Cast Member server know in advance whether you're planning on ordering anything non-alcoholic and that you'd really just like the souvenir mug itself! In the meantime, we look forward to seeing more of your questions come through here at planDisney Monica!
Here's to dreaming of tropical lands and lounges with lush libations!
