We are going April 17-22/08. We are going to the Fantasmic show and have 4:20 reservation at Brown Derby, it takes 2 Dining vouchers. Is it worth doing the dinner show at that time of year or just eating fast somewhere and going to show on our own?

That week in April will likely be very crowded as many schools on the east coast (and elsewhere) have vacation then. If you would like to see Fantasmic during any crowded week, you will likely need to wait an hour (or even more) in line to secure a seat for the show. Booking a dinner package takes away this wait time because it includes reserved seating for the show.

The Brown Derby is one of the most fabulous restaurants on WDW property. It is a very special place to eat. I dined there in December and had a wonderful duck entree and the signature grapefruit cake for dessert. The wine list is also amazing. If you would like see the menu for the Brown Derby, go to allearsnet.com, click the "search button" and type in "Brown Derby menu." The chefs do tinker with the menus occasionally, but this will give you a good overview of the offerings there.

If you are concerned about your voucher situation, you could certainly cancel you reservation and eat a counter service meal in the Fantasmic line. But the Brown Derby package would make for a memorable evening.
