Ahoy, Jacq!
How thrilling that your family is traveling from New Zealand for a voyage on the Disney Fantasy! Below are five things I wish I had known on my first Disney Cruise Line vacation.
1. Your stateroom door is magnetic, and ALL the doors look the same. Many of your fellow cruisers will decorate their doors. If you can bring something that will help identify your doors, you will be grateful!
2. You can’t possibly do everything on the ship, and it’s ok. Choose the activities and shows that you really want to attend, and skip the things that are not as appealing. Be sure to try the MidShip Detective Agency, it is not only a great way to learn the layout of the ship, it is a BLAST for all ages!
3. Room Service is included in the price of your cruise, and it’s awesome! I had no idea that I could order a Mickey Ice Cream Bar at midnight until AFTER I came home from my first cruise. Be sure to have some $1 bills for tipping.
4. Your servers are amazing, and know EVERYTHING! Ask and listen to their advice. They know the best views for the fireworks and the hidden treasures onboard.
5. You will want to take another Disney Cruises after your first. Be sure to book your next one while you are onboard to enjoy a 10% savings plus a stateroom credit on your next cruise! You can always cancel or move it if you change your mind, but you can only benefit from the discount while you are onboard the ship.
Please realize that my list changes often, but at this time, these are some of the top things I can share to help make your cruise magical.
I hope your family has a FANTASTic time on the Disney Fantasy!
Happy Cruising, Tracy
