Approximately when does Disney remove its Christmas decorations? We are arriving on January 1 and are wondering if they will still be up to view. Thanks!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Michelle! Thank you for bringing us your question about one of my favorite times of the year, the Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort!

Holiday decorations are usually still up in the Theme Parks during the first week in January and are normally taken down before the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend starts, which will be on January 8th next year. Decorations at most of the Disney World Resort hotels are usually taken down before those at the theme parks so there is a slight chance you will not be able to see them there.

Be sure to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours benefit, among other wonderful perks of staying at a Disney Resort Hotel. Magic Kingdom Park will offer this benefit from 8:00 pm to 10.00 on January 1. Check the most accurate and updated times and activities on the My Disney Experience app.

I hope this information has been helpful, Michelle. I wish you and your family a fun-packed vacation! Come see us again with more and more questions!

    See ya real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Desiree, Peru

Hi! I'm Desiree from Lima, Peru. My family will never ever tire of visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth, even if means traveling almost 3,000 miles to do so! My husband and I love to watch the fireworks with our kids, but the best magic happens when the grandparents come along and we all feel the same age in front of Cinderella Castle! I love giving tips about different types of resorts and traveling with multigenerational groups.
