Howdy Colleen, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! I love to talk about all things
Fort Wilderness, so I’d be happy to help figure out what fire pits are approved to use at the campground. If I misunderstood what you were asking about, please go ahead and submit another question. I want to make sure you get the information you need for your upcoming trip!
To keep the campground as safe as possible, Disney has specific guidelines for campfire pits. They must be completely enclosed with a solid metal top that prevents an exposed flame while keeping embers and sparks contained. If you have questions about your specific fire pit, Cast Members recommend speaking with a manager when you arrive at Fort Wilderness.
The campground is such a magical place to stay!
Magic Kingdom is just a short
boat ride away, but my family could spend our whole vacation without ever leaving Fort Wilderness. We love visiting
Tri-Circle-D Ranch near the Settlement area where you can meet the horses you might recognize from the
Main Street Vehicles and the
Festival of Fantasy Parade! If you’re inspired to channel your inner Woody, there are even
trail rides that depart from The Trail Blaze Corral near the Main Entrance. But if sitting back and relaxing is more your speed, there are
carriage rides too!
Our other Fort Wilderness must-do is dancing with Chip ’n’ Dale at their nightly
Campfire Sing-A-Long! We like to buy a s’mores kit to toast marshmallows before the music begins. And if you’re not ready for bed after the festivities are over, there’s usually a Disney movie that follows the sing-a-long.
I’m wishing you a rootin’ tootin’ stay at Fort Wilderness next month! If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to mosey on back to planDisney.
