Approaching our 180 day ADR time,I want to book online at 6 am and wonder if the extra 10 days that I can book through will show up on that 180 day mark automatic or do I need schedule a reservation on the first day first and then the other days appear

Hi, Leslie! You would not need to make a reservation for the first day of your trip unless you just wanted to do so.  Since you will sign in through your Disney account (and therefore be linked to your Resort reservation dates), the eligible days will be available when you log on to make your dining reservations. This is just one more perk that I love about on-site at Walt Disney World Resort! Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
