Welcome back, Amanda!
My family and I budget and save for our
Disney Cruise Line voyages by purchasing
Disney Gift Cards throughout the year which we then apply toward our cruise payments and later onboard toward our stateroom account. It's so nice to get onboard knowing that we already have credit to use for any purchases in the
gift shops,
Port Adventures, traditional
gratuities, or other charges we might make on our Key To The World Card throughout the sailing.
Take however many Disney Gift Cards that you have to
Guest Services once you're onboard and they will add those as credits to your stateroom account. I don't know of a limit to how many you may use. Believe me, I've had quite a few applied to our sailings sometimes! Anything you then charge to your room will be deducted first from those credits. If you use up all the credit you've applied with the gift cards, any other charges will be put onto your credit card on file. There have been a couple of times when my family and I have come to the end of our cruise and we still had credit left. The Guest Services team then puts that back onto one of the gift cards, so be sure to hold onto the cards even after you apply them as credit, just in case.
Keep saving those Disney Gift Cards, Amanda, and have fun planning!
Marcy
