Hello Elaine!
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. I'm happy to help you prepare for your July visit.
Your travel dates occur after changes to
Disability Access Service (DAS) go into effect. If you've utilized this service in the past you may recall registering with a Guest Relations Cast Member upon arrival. However, the approval process will be adjusted effective May 20, 2024. Guests visiting from outside the US can still request the service, but you'll do so via a Virtual Chat instead of face-to-face with a Cast Member.
You should be able to
access this US version of the DAS website once you've arrived stateside to complete this process. However, if you won't have access to a computer or smartphone during your visit you can stop by Guest Relations to request a device. The Cast Members there won't be part of the approval process, but they will have devices available for guests to access the Virtual Chat.
During that Virtual Chat, you'll discuss your needs with a member of the Disability Services Team, a group of specially trained Cast Members. If needed, they will also bring in medical partners to review eligibility and/or determine alternate accommodations for your visit. There are a
number of services already in place to provide an accessible experience for guests of all abilities. I'd recommend reviewing these accommodations in advance of your arrival so you're best prepared to enjoy the magic.
Your travel dates also put you right in the middle of the fun of
several new experiences debuting this summer. I'm excited to see “Disney Dreams That Soar,” a new drone show coming to
Disney Springs, particularly since we missed the drone show on our recent visit to Disneyland Paris. I'm also eager to see
EPCOT with the construction walls down and a bit of Encanto magic at play in World Celebration.
I hope this helped, Elaine. If we can answer any additional questions please come back and let us know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
