I am an AP. If I book a Disney property, will I be able to use my Magic Band for the rest of the year, and will I be able to book FP+ ahead of time after we check out of our room? Also, can I order a MB for my DH if he doesn't go with us on this trip?

    Hi Laura,

I am also an annual pass holder. I have been able to continue making FP+ reservations using my MagicBand after my Disney resort stays. For example, I checked out of a Disney hotel last Thursday and I still have the ability to make FP+ reservations for the next 60 days. I was traveling with my daughters who had regular park tickets, not APs, and they are no longer able to make FP+ reservations. I could only make them FP+ ressies while we were actually staying at the resort.

So to answer your first question, yes, if you're an AP holder and have stayed at a Disney hotel, you can continue to make FP+ reservations with your MagicBand. However, there is currently no mechanism for you to get MBs for guests (your husband) who are not listed on your hotel reservation. Although I have not tested this, I suppose a workaround might be for you to put your husband's name on the reservation, even if he's not staying with you. This would allow you to get a MB for him. Assuming he's an AP holder, my guess is that he'd be able make FP+ reservations after this. (Again, it's a guess, I haven't tried it myself, nor have I heard of other guests doing this.)

Disney is in the process of testing MagicBand distribution to AP holders who do not currently have resort reservations. There has been no official timeline published, but my guess (again, my guess) is that additional groups of AP holders will be added to the test in the next few months. You may find that you and your husband get MagicBands in this manner. Also, be aware that Disney is testing limits on AP holder FP+ reservations. For example, you may find that AP holders can make FP+ reservations for seven days out of any 60 day period or something like that. The tests are ongoing and you may find changes happening at any time.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
