Hi there, Valarie! Thank you for bringing your question to planDisney.
I once visited
Disneyland Resort with friends in town for just a day. It was on their wishlist to see the
Disneyland Fireworks, so they purchased tickets to Disneyland Park and only stayed for the show. The fact that my friends and your mom want to pay for a Disneyland Resort theme park ticket just to see some incredible Disneyland entertainment speaks volumes of how magical these shows genuinely are.
Your mom is more than welcome to purchase a
Disneyland Park ticket and only watch the
Main Street Electrical Parade. However, please note that discounted tickets are not available, even if Guests arrive close to closing.
Although you mentioned she was only interested in the parade, I would love to recommend a few other things she may be interested in.
The first is right on Main Street, U.S.A., and it is
The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. This short show walks Guests through the life of one of the United States’ most respected presidents and is a real crowd-pleaser. I also recommend you and your mom consider dinner before the show. The
Carnation Cafe, also on Main Street, U.S.A., is famous for its Walt’s Chili. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.
Before I let you go, be mindful that Guests do tend to start waiting for the parade roughly an hour in advance. To increase your mother’s chances of securing a nice, comfortable spot for the parade, I recommend getting there early.
Have fun,
Lola
