    Hi, Is there anyway of knowing ahead of time whether the Characters in flight is up & running? Last time we went to Downtown Disney just for that and it was closed due to wind and I didn't think it was that windy, so how could I tell beforehand? Thanks

    Hi Elizabeth! Great timing on your question! There was a post in today's Disney Parks Blog about the upcoming launch of a new Characters in Flight balloon. The balloon is supposed to launch in the next week, but keep checking back to that link for more information. Unfortunately, with the unpredictable the weather in Central Florida, there is no knowing ahead of time if the balloon will go up. We were there once and it was closed, and walked by a short time later and were delighted to see it operating again! It often doesn't feel that windy to us on the ground, but you sure do feel it up in the air!
