Hiya, Melissa!
Walt Disney World has cornered the market on meals with the Disney princesses. As a mom with three daughters, that was a huge plus for me. Now that I have a grandson, I'm always looking for things for him to do that are less all about Disney royalty and more about snakes, snails, and puppy dog tails.
We still do love a great character dining experience, and there are
dining reservations you can get with Mickey and his friends.
Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort features an all you care to eat meal served family-style, and you are likely to see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald as you enjoy your meal. My grandson loves
Tusker House Restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom. There, the characters greet you wearing their safari garb, and you usually see Mickey, Goofy, Daisy, and Donald.
At
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at
Disney's Hollywood Studios, you can make an appointment at
Droid Depot at the Walt Disney World Resort to custom make your own droid. Or, if your son is at least four years old, you can get up close and personal to some of the largest animals at
Disney's Animal Kingdom with the
Caring for Giants tour, which goes behind the scenes of the care for the theme park's African elephant herd. You might also like
Up Close with Rhinos, which takes you backstage to meet the massive white rhino.
Look at other dining experiences, too. I can recommend
Whispering Canyon and
Space 220 as ones that are great with boys.
I hope you find something your little guy will love!
