Hiya, Susan. Welcome back to planDisney. I am so happy to see you here again!
Viewing locations at the
Disney Resort Collection Hotels are intended for those Guests staying at the resort or who have an
advanced dining reservation at one of their restaurants and parking is limited to these two categories of Guests. While Guests are often able to travel to these resorts using the monorail or boats to explore and shop, Cast Members
have previously limited these areas to hotel and dining Guests on busy occasions such as New Year's Eve. Because of this, I would not center your New Year's Eve plans around these resorts.
When I want to view a
nighttime spectacular outside of the theme parks, it's usually EPCOT's show from
Disney's BoardWalk area. I love to enjoy a treat from
BoardWalk Deli or
BoardWalk Ice Cream, wander around a bit, and enjoy some of the entertainment on Disney's BoardWalk itself. Then, I'll usually settle to watch the show on the bridge that you cross to walk over to
Disney's BoardWalk Inn after exiting from the International Gateway exit of EPCOT. In fact, my friend
Prince gave some
great advice to another Guest looking to enjoy fireworks in this area that you should check out! Just note that you will not be able to see the entire nighttime spectacular from outside of the park, which is pretty much true for any nighttime spectacular at the
Walt Disney World Resort.
Susan, I hope you enjoy your New Year's visit to the resort and that the joy and hope you feel follows you throughout the year! If you have any other questions, please reach out again and we'll get those answers for you!
You're the one that can fill the world with sunshine,
Matt
