What is the best place to watch the Epcot fireworks, I’ve heard people say at the boardwalk, is there a way to get to Disney Boardwalk from Old Key West without driving? Thank you

Hi there Karen, and welcome to planDisney!

There really is nothing like capping off your day with a chance to catch a glimpse of the nighttime spectaculars around Walt Disney World Resort, and we take the chance to enjoy them even if we're not inside any of the Theme Parks! Luckily, the fireworks over World Showcase Lagoon can be seen from quite a distance and aside from seeing them from within EPCOT itself, I personally find that the next best nearby locations are definitely vantage points around Disney's BoardWalk. With EPCOT Forever coming to an end in 2023 and the debut of Luminous - The Symphony of Us I expect that so many folks and families will want to take advantage of these viewing tips:

There is a sloping bridge connecting Disney's Beach Club Resort to Sea Breeze Point that stretches over the waterway from Crescent Lake; from here you can spot the France Pavilion and International Gateway on either side of the channel. It can definitely be pretty popular on certain evenings and especially on the weekends, so I recommend that you stake out a spot well in advance as you snag a sweet treat from BoardWalk Ice Cream or even place a mobile order for a snack from the BoardWalk Deli while you wait for showtime! A great spot for a seat could be the area adjacent to Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance Hall where you may glimpse the higher fireworks over the distant treetops across the water. (The bridge nearby that crosses over the water connection to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels may be another angle to consider!)

Getting here from Disney's Old Key West Resort without needing to drive can be as easy as taking a bus headed to Disney's Hollywood Studios and switching over to the complimentary water transportation for a gentle glide on the water towards EPCOT. Alternatively, I've observed that some folks take a boat ride over to Disney Springs, where they can take a bus over to Disney's BoardWalk Inn.

Another option could be taking advantage of a Specialty Cruise that could take you to an exclusive vantage point unlike any other; when I experienced it last year we sailed right into the waters at the edge of World Showcase Lagoon and didn't require Theme Park admission to do so! I hope you come back to planDisney for any more tips and tricks Karen!

Here's to evenings full of fantastic fireworks on your upcoming visit!
